Practice Teaching!!!
Practice Teaching
Each teacher runs his or her classroom differently,
so it is important to decide on the procedures you need to run your classroom
smoothly and then teach students the procedures of your classroom. Regardless
of the age of the students, simply posting the expectations or procedures on
the wall is not enough: procedures must be taught, practiced, and reinforced throughout
the school year.
Of course, choosing the right rules and procedures
for your classroom is an individual decision. But be sure to define what you
expect of students from the very beginning. Remember to take time to teach
procedures during the first days and weeks of school.
For me as a student teacher, it is important to
practice your teaching as good and as early as possible. So I have my own ways
on how I am going to manage my teaching. Here are my routine:
·
Entering the room and beginning the lesson on time – every class has its own time, so when you lose 5
minutes it’s a big matter when it comes on finishing the task for the day.
·
Knowing your objectives – it is important to know your objectives before
starting the lesson because it provide students with a clear purpose to
focus their learning efforts.
·
Setting guidelines for your students - it give students the structure they need and also
help them feel that the classroom is a safe and predictable place.
·
Mastering your subject matter - the mastery of subject matter is the
foundation upon which the education of a teacher is based. The teacher requires
among other things the skill of mastering the subject matter and being
able to establish the interrelationships between different subjects. Mastering
your subject matter will help the students to easly understand the lesson.
Ending the Class
Efficiently - while it is normal to consider how you are going
to start your class each day, it is less common to focus on the best way to end
each class. Ending your class efficiently and effectively can help the pupils
to store their knowledge for a long time.

My First Teaching
(Grade III-A)
My assigned topic was about "Prepositions". At that time, I'm so nervous, really nervous! But I told to myself that I need to overcome it. At first, I can't catch the attention of the children. And I'm so down :( Time flies and finally I catch the attention of the children by setting my standards and classroom rules. After setting my standards I started my lesson.

At this time we have a collaborative teaching. I together with my partner, Jumille taught them the right sound and pronunciation of the English Alphabet. Before the lesson we sang first the English Alphabet Song and then have a guessing game regarding the sound of the alphabet. Right after the guessing game we started the lesson. After teaching them the lesson they can easily pronounce the right sound of each letter and some words starting with each letter.

My Last Teaching
(Grade I-A)
I was assigned at Grade I-A on my last teaching. My topic is all about the things in the classroom. I used a projector and a laptop to play a video in order for them to understand the topic very well. I am happy seeing them as they enjoying the videos and the lesson as well. They actively participated in everything we did. I am always grateful to them for making me believe that the path I took is right for me.
