Co-Teaching Days (August 8,13,14,15,16,23,24)



·       Planning for Teaching
Planning and preparing for teaching is one of the ways to ensure that your educational objectives as a teacher are achieved.
The teachers in SDK Sang Timur School used to plan and prepare first before their teaching period. As what I observed they usually think first who are the learners and then they start planning to do their desired goals or the objectives. After creating their objectives, next is the assessment that can evaluate the learners if they really learned something or not.


·       Preparing Lessons and Materials
The teachers need to finish first their teaching plan/lesson plan before teaching. They need to consider the teaching materials and the sources of the lessons. By finishing their lesson plans they can now easily teach the subject matter because they have their outline or what we call the blue print. After considering all the plans, they are now well-prepared and ready to teach their lessons.


·       Teaching in Class
I have the chance to assist the classes from grades 1-6 and there are a lot of differences in every class. First of all, the classes from grades 1-3 need a lot of special attention. The teacher needs to be energetic because pupils from that grades like to play and do whatever they please. Elementary school teachers who teach first, second, or third grade work with students on the basics of academic subjects like reading and math in addition to preparing them to behave like good students in the classroom as they get older.
While in the 4th grade up to the 6th grade the teachers now are giving the pupils the chance to use their HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILLS (HOTS).




The Grade IV-A and IV-B

The lesson for the grade IV-A and IV-B is all about making a simple dialogue. I helped them in making the dialogue and I am also the one who helped them memorized the lines and recite it infront of the class. They are so happy because of the interaction with their classmates. They have a hard time in making the dialogue because most of them can't understand and speak English language but at the end they made it. I am so happy because they learned something from me that day!










































The Grade V-A

In Grade V-A the children are studying the operations on fraction. After some board work we let them answer an activity sheet. And the teacher and I are so happy because in just one day all of them learned the operations on fraction. 






The Grade III-A
They are doing an activity by pair. The activity is all about getting to know each other. 









Grade II and Grade I

In Grade I and Grade II I assisted them in coloring and drawing. Since they are kids they enjoyed it. But some children have difficulties in differentiating the colors. Because of the different activities they've done at that day, they improved a little. I'm so happy of their output!!!

First Day at SDK Sang Timur School (August 7,2018)

August 7, 2018 was my first day at SDK Sang Timur School. Another warm welcome for us! We had a meeting with all the staffs of the school. The teachers are so kind and caring. One of the teachers sang a Filipino song and I really enjoyed it.  After the meeting, they introduced us to every class. The children are so sweet. And I really appreciate it so much. We also have a short dialogue with the other teachers and told us about the the children and how they handle a class. The SDK Sang Timur School is a inclusive school. So they are accepting a child needing a special care and attention. They brief us about on how to handle the children who needs a special care and attention.

Finally! It's Time to Go Home! :)

“I learned so much!” The countless things I learn during an internship abroad can be overwhelming. As an intern abroad I soaked up details about a new culture, a new city and also your profession. Since the internships last for a month, I have a more nuanced understanding of the culture and city than mere travelers. I will come back home wiser and with a new way of seeing the world. Thank you so much UST  and SDK Family! I will be forever grateful for this once in a lifetime experiences! :) I learned so much from all of you!

Second City Tour (Prambanan Temple & Hutan Pinus)

Prambanan Temple Last August 11 we visited one of the famous temples in Indonesia. I, Jumille, Rere, and Nurul had a great time together. Life was meant for good friends and great adventures! All the love!!! Hutan Pinus Had a great time here! The weather is good and the place is a must visit place when you are planning to visit Yogyakarta.  There's a funny story behind these beautiful pictures! :) First let me tell you that we ride a motorcycle just to get there. So here's the story, after going to the Prambanan Temple we decided to go the Hutan Pinus. But guess what? We don't know the way going there. So, we explored the way. We lost several times, we took the rough roads and we even asked strangers just to get there.  But the place is worth sacrificing. All the hardships had been paid off when we got to the place.  I am recommending this place. I had so much fan in here!
