Observation Days (August 7,8,9,10)
On our observation week they let us observe the class we want on Thursday and Friday. Because they only gave us the english subject and the english subject is from Monday to Wednesday only. I decided to enter the class of Thematic subject and Math subject every Thursday and Friday.
But because of the our orientation, the english subject on tuesday, August 7 has passed and that's why I observed the PE class.

Teaching
Methods
Teachers in SDK Sang Timur School used the
student-centered approach to learning. While teachers are still an authority
figure in a student-centered teaching model, teachers and students play an
equally active role in the learning process.
The
teacher’s primary role is to coach and facilitate student learning and overall
comprehension of material, and to measure student learning through both formal
and informal forms of assessment, like group projects, student portfolios, and
class participation. In the student-centered classroom, teaching and assessment
are connected because student learning is continuously measured during teacher
instruction.
Another one is the high tech approach to learning.
Advancements in technology have propelled the education sector in the last few
decades. As the name suggests, the high tech approach to learning utilizes
different technology to aid students in their classroom learning. Teachers in
SDK Sang Timur School use computers and other technology in the classroom, and
others may use the internet to assign homework. The internet is also beneficial
in a classroom setting as it provides unlimited resources. Teachers may also
use the internet in order to connect their students with people from around the
world.

Learning Materials and Innovation
Ø
Students are given
input through two-way communication where information is gapped and students
are required to discuss and share their findings before the actual information
is given.
Ø
Use of slides and
images to enhance understanding of a topic.
Ø Videos of real-life occurrence of interpersonal
behaviours are used to enhance understanding of the topic.
Ø Students are given the opportunity to practice the
skills just learned based on real-life situations created for them before the
real assessment of their ability to put into practice the skills is conducted.
SDK
Sang Timur teachers believe that engaging the pupils in real-life situations is
one of the best approaches to teaching
and learning as they empower students to be responsible for their own learning
and help them to become active learners; sometimes getting hands-on experience,
getting their hands “dirty” by doing things.

Authentic Assessment
A form of assessment in which students are
asked to perform real-world tasks that demonstrate meaningful application of
essential knowledge and skills -- Jon Mueller.
Teachers usually give the tasks to their students,
like performing and they are evaluated by a rubric. By letting the pupils “DO” their tasks, they can provide more specific
and usable information about what students have succeeded in learning as well
as what they have not learned
Tuesday
Grade VI-A
August 7, 2018 I observed the class of Grade VI-A. They're doing their Physical Education Class.
Wednesday
Grade II-A
I have the chance to observed the class of Grade II-A during their English subject. At that time they're learning about the family relationships. The teacher let the students think and construct their own answer. For me, it's a nice way of teaching because you're letting the children use their higher order thinking skills.
